Ms Leanne Azzopardi (Dietician)

Nutrition Health & Wellbeing's mission is to look after your optimal health. Their expert advice, support and tailored lifestyle solutions will guide you to your own success.

A personal one-to-one consultation with a guaranteed, highly qualified, registered Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) will assist you in making informed decisions and in creating a customised plan that supports your individual quest for optimal health.

They are experts in their fields and work with you by listening and arming you with dietary advice to achieve your nutritional goals. Your health is their number one priority.

What is a Dietician?

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) has undertaken a university degree in dietetics, and has registered with the Dietitian’s Association of Australia (DAA). APDs have extensive training and knowledge and experience to help people understand the relationship between food and health and make dietary choices to attain and maintain health, and to prevent and treat illness and disease.

APDs work closely with doctors and other health professionals, and are eligible to work hospitals as well as in a range of settings including food industry, government and private practice.

The Key to Successful Weight Loss

The key to successful weight loss is to focus on a comprehensive healthy lifestyle approach rather than being on a “diet or fad diet”. This will improve the psychological impacts of healthy eating, whilst avoiding the unappealing phenomenon known as the “diet merry go round”.

A healthy and sustainable weight loss approach aims to achieve a minimum of 0.5kg to 1kg of weight reduction per week, with a greater emphasis placed on waist measurement reduction. Gradual, ongoing weight loss will provide significant benefits for your weight and your well-being . Rather than making radical changes to existing eating habits, we believe that the key is to create gradual life-long changes that suit your taste and lifestyle, whilst maintaining all your nutritional requirements.

How to acheive sustained weight loss?

This is where an Accredited Dietitian plays an important role.

If you are overweight the dieticians can help you achieve your weight loss goals and assist in the prevention and management of diet related health conditions. Those who find weight loss difficult or frustrating may be setting unrealistic goals and expectations. Weight loss can be a positive, educational and highly rewarding process. It may be easier than you think…
